The Andhra Pradesh State Development Planning Society (APSDPS) is a premier autonomous institution under the Planning Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Established as a Grade-I charitable society under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001, APSDPS plays a pivotal role in advancing the state’s long-term development agenda.

Headquartered in Vijayawada, APSDPS operates with state-wide jurisdiction and catalyzes transformational growth, policy innovation, and sustainable development. The Society integrates data-driven governance, strategic planning, and evidence-based decision-making to support inclusive development and enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Andhra Pradesh.

APSDPS strives to position Andhra Pradesh as a model state for good governance, economic progress, and social equity through close collaboration with government departments, research institutions, and development partners.

We at the Andhra Pradesh State Development Planning Society (APSDPS) are working hard to make our state a better place for all of us. Our goal is to help Andhra Pradesh grow in a way that’s fair, open, and includes everyone.

These plans are all about developing key areas like farming, industries, and services. Key Activities of APSDPS

The Andhra Pradesh State Development Planning Society (APSDPS) plays a pivotal role in strengthening evidence-based planning, monitoring, and policy formulation in the state. The following are the core activities undertaken by APSDPS:

01. Macroeconomic Monitoring and Policy Advisory

APSDPS monitors key macroeconomic growth parameters to provide evidence-based guidance to the Government in designing new schemes, restructuring existing programmes, and accelerating their implementation. This includes evaluating socio-economic impacts to ensure alignment with developmental goals.
02. Policy Briefs and Sectoral Strategy Development

The Society develops state policy briefs and sector-specific strategies aligned with Andhra Pradesh's long-term development goals and targets under Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, and other strategic frameworks.
03. Tracking Development Indices and Performance Analysis

We regularly monitor the state’s performance on critical indices such as the Human Development Index (HDI), Gender Development Index (GDI), and other sectoral indicators. Based on these analyses, APSDPS provides actionable recommendations to improve sectoral performance and inclusive growth.
04. Website and Application Development through IT

The IT Team at APSDPS plays a vital role in driving the organization’s digital transformation. With expertise in web development, GIS, database management, and system integration, the team ensures the delivery of secure, efficient, and user-friendly digital platforms to support evidence-based planning and governance across Andhra Pradesh.
05. Knowledge Collaboration and Capacity Building

APSDPS coordinates with leading knowledge institutions, think tanks, and academic bodies for the co-creation of research, evaluation studies, and strategic documents. We facilitate capacity-building efforts by organizing workshops, seminars, and lecture series to promote knowledge sharing among government departments and stakeholders.
06. Facilitating Policy and Research Partnerships

We serve as a bridge between government stakeholders and national and international policy advisory bodies and academic institutions, fostering collaborative engagements focused on public policy, development research, and evidence-based planning.
07. Innovation and Knowledge Ecosystem Strengthening

APSDPS actively contributes to strengthening the innovation and knowledge ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh by supporting platforms and initiatives that encourage research, innovation, and cross-sectoral learning.
